Sheree’s piece Bingo has been shortlisted for the University Of Sydney Union (USU) Creative Awards, and published in their 2019 Hermes catalogue.
Hermes was established in 1886, and annually publishes the creative work of University of Sydney students. The shortlisted works entered into the USU Creative Awards are also displayed at Verge Gallery.
Sheree’s piece, Bingo, is a short work of fiction, depicting a young protagonist and her grandmother playing bingo in an aged care facility. It explores the social dynamics of the setting, and highlights the ways in which we overlook the complexities of these relationships.
Sheree attended the USU Creative Awards Ceremony at Verge Gallery on 10 October. Copies of Hermes are now available at the USU building and other locations on campus, or by emailing hermes@usu.edu.au
