Sheree’s piece, Adriana, has been shortlisted in a local writing competition and will be featured in a forthcoming anthology.
The competition, run through local bookstore Better Read Than Dead, called for pieces on the theme of “the road less travelled”.
Adriana is a profile piece, based on an interview with a Sydney sex worker. It explores the true nature of sex work, the impact of technological disruption on the sex industry, and other forces that shape the careers of sex workers.
All shortlisted pieces will be included in the anthology, which will be available for purchase at Better Read Than Dead. The winning entry, and two runners up, will receive a cash prize. Winners will be announced at the launch event, on 25 August.
